Music Composition, Sound Design and Sync for Games, Film and Theatre

Music Composition

A Composer's job is to create, what I work to create is dependent on who and what the material is for. My intention is to create music which enhances and deepens user engagement in Games, Adverts, Animations and Films, as well as specialising in composing ambient music for theatre productions. This process is achieved using both analogue and digital recording mediums, including magnetic tape, Synthesisers, and DAWs such as Ableton Live or Logic Pro X.

Sound Design For Games

The sound designer for a video game production is tasked with integrating music and sound effects into the playing environment, via the use of software such as Wwise. I endeavour to coordinate with the programmers to identify key points in the game where the sound team can attach one or more effects or parameters to accentuate events within the game-play environment to enhance various parameters of the soundtrack.

Composition For Film and Animation

Sound design plays a key role in the telling of a story in film, and music adds a strong element to this design feature through the use of the combined elements of the soundtrack. I  have key experience working with software such as Cubase, Logic Pro X or Pro Tools to sync the music to the cuts in the video sequence. 

Mixing and Mastering

Alongside composition, music must be mixed to meet the vision of the composer and/or artist. The process of mixing grants control of which instrument is most prominent, which frequencies to remove and closely ties in with mastering, the process of making ready a track for a specific distribution medium by processing the mix to meet standards set for each.
